About: Mandate

SHIRP's Mandate

SHIRP is a program of the USask Library. We are funded by the Government of Saskatchewan. SHIRP provides a collection of electronic healthcare resources to Saskatchewan's licensed healthcare professionals, free of charge. Our resource collection is a subset of the USask Library's resource collection.

Our mandate is to ensure that all licensed healthcare professionals in Saskatchewan have access to a core suite of resources to support their practice.

Partnerships

To help ensure that SHIRP’s resources are easily accessed by Saskatchewan’s healthcare professionals, we embed our resources within Saskatchewan’s other health libraries. For those affiliated with Saskatchewan Health Authority, University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan or Saskatchewan Polytechnic, SHIRP’s resources are available within your institution’s libraries. By accessing your institution's library, you will have access to the SHIRP resources as well as other resources to which your institution subscribes.

SHIRP also provides institutional access to employees of the Ministry of Health, eHealth Saskatchewan, and the Health Quality Council.

SHIRP Website Access

For those professionals not affiliated with any of the above institutions, SHIRP’s resources can be accessed directly through SHIRP’s website. Signing up for an account is quick and simple. We just need basic contact information and license number with the relevant licensing body.
